St Paul's Cathedral

Background

St Paul’s Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral and is one of the most famous and recognisable sights of London. Its world famous dome is an iconic feature of the London skyline.

Millions of people come to visit our cathedral each year. An online ticketing system for sightseeing visits is an important part of our website and we wanted to ensure that all address data captured was validated and in a consistent format. Using the PAF data was a clear choice.

The Solution

We looked for possible suppliers on the Royal Mail PAF suppliers listings and selected Crafty Clicks to provide the address finder for our ticketing pages. Integration was very easy and we were delighted with the support and the very fair charity pricing we got from Crafty Clicks.

The Result

Using the PAF resulted in a marked improvement in the quality of address data captured. This was also important for customers who may have Gift Aided their order because we must have validated and consistent address data returned with these. An additional benefit is an improvement in usability. Users welcome the postcode lookup function when faced with the address forms.

Verifying Customer Identities

Verifying customer identities quickly and accurately is essential for call centres and online checkouts alike. PAF helps you to verify a customer’s identity by confirming their address and postcode details in seconds, ensuring a better customer experience and reducing the chance of orders being sent to addresses that don’t exist or can’t receive mail. Naturally, this has the potential to save your organisation money by reducing returns, not to mention the scope for online fraud.

Manchester City FC

Background

Like every successful football club, looking after the fans and getting their match day tickets to them on time is of paramount importance to Manchester City. Crucially, that means providing an efficient ticketing service through their call centre, together with guaranteed addressing accuracy.

The Solution

The club already had the Salesforce.com CRM platform in place, but still relied on managed call centre staff to capture address data over the phone. So they bought an address validation plugin from licensed PAF Solutions Provider PCA Predict, which not only enabled call centre operatives to be more efficient and productive, but also ensured that all-important match tickets and merchandise would reach their intended recipients on time.

The Result

The address verification plug-in has ensured clean and efficient data capture at the point of entry. This has improved the customer experience and vastly reduced the chances of tickets going astray, saving money for the club and preventing fans from being disappointed. The club has also been impressed by the ease with which the PAF-based solution has been integrated with its existing CRM system, not to mention with the flexibility of Postcode Anywhere’s pay-as-you-go pricing model.

Rent4Sure

Background

As one of the UK’s largest providers of reference services to the lettings industry, Rent4Sure required a quick and reliable way to verify and credit check prospective tenants against address databases. Yet during 2013, it became clear that their current database provision couldn’t deliver the performance they needed.

The Solution

Rent4Sure discussed the situation with Allies Computing. They recommended their address lookup API, based on its proven speed and stability. Following an offline trial for evaluation purposes, it was quickly integrated into Rent4Sure’s existing platform and database management processes, enabling a swift resolution to the performance issues the business had been experiencing.

The Result

Rent4Sure has been using Allies since 2013, and continues to regard them as a trusted partner rather than simply a supplier. They are also delighted with the efficiency they have gained, with Head of IT Jack Webb stating that the Allies solution is: “…400% faster than our old address lookup, and offers exceptional service availability.”

Identifying Addresses in a Specific Geographic Area

When combined with geo-locational data, you can use PAF to help customers find you as part of a postcode-driven ‘Where’s my nearest store’ application on your website. This can also tie in to mapping software and apps that help them drive straight to your door. PAF can also be a key component of mapping software that enables you to plan more efficient delivery routes, not to mention helping with everything from territory selection to the identification of catchment areas.

Local Dialogue

Background

The firm of Local Dialogue provides liaison between developers and planners and the local community, they prepare literature and organise meetings in order to present proposed schemes to the public. Recently, Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association in North London commissioned Local Dialogue to present an affordable housing development – Ashmount Close.

The Solution

Using AddressList from Arc en Ciel, Local Dialogue were able to quickly and easily define a very specific area of consultation. The area is bounded by major roads on all sides and represents a contiguous community. From this, an up-to-date and accurate spreadsheet of addresses for every stakeholder in the defined area was produced and used to inform both local residents and businesses of the proposals and to invite them to exhibitions and events.

The Result

It was essential for this project that every resident in the surrounding area was made aware of the proposals and throughout the consultation no complaints were received from residents who’d failed to receive any communication: a complete success.
