Investors in People (IiP) Gold Award – Until 2023

The Address Management Unit have achieved the highly sought after Investors in People Gold Award for the third time in September 2020. We were the first business unit within Royal Mail to achieve such recognition in June 2015.

In-fact fewer than 17% of organisations working with Investors in People (IiP) in the country have been awarded the Gold standard, which recognises best practice in areas such as:

✔ Learning and development

✔ Leadership skills

✔ Staff recognition

✔ Team engagement

✔ Business planning

Our 60 strong team based across two sites in Southampton and Sunderland, began working through the accreditation framework three years ago.  We achieved the Standard Award in 2013 followed by the Silver award the following year.

Steve Rooney, Head of Royal Mail’s Address Management Unit said: “Trying to establish a single team at two different sites based over 300 miles apart can be a challenge.  We began working with IP to solidify our working practices, improve engagement and cross communication.  The Gold Accreditation is testament to the dedication and hard work that the teams have put in.”

What’s next?

We will continue to measure the success of working with the Investors in People (IiP) framework, raising awareness of diversity in the workplace and continue to promote our team and business values.

Data Seal

DataSeal is one of only two information security standards available in the UK.

Following a recent independent audit, the Address Management Unit met the required standards and retained the DataSeal accreditation for the Tenth year running.

The Data Seal audit sets out performance requirements for 13 areas including; risk assessment, virus prevention, network security, back-up processes and data storage.

In retaining the DataSeal accreditation, the Address Management Unit continue to demonstrate the effectiveness of our processes and procedures and our commitment to protecting our data assets and customer information.
